Mandatory forms for coaches

Each season, the individual League Coordinators are responsible for selecting one head coach for each team in their league.   All individuals volunteering through the annual registration process will be considered within the initial pool of candidates for each league.  The League Coordinator then narrows this pool to a “proposed list” of coaches through a vetting process that can include, but is not limited to:

  • Evaluation of previous coaching and baseball experience, esp. within MBA

  • Where applicable, review of prior year parent surveys

  • Direct interviews

  • League Coordinators submit the proposed list to the Director of Leagues for approval.

  • Every year, without exception, coaches must submit to and pass a league background check and supply documentation of concussion training before being approved to coach.

There will be a mandatory clinic for all MBA volunteers who plan on participating as a head coach or as an assistant coach Please refer to the event calendar for the date and location.  You will learn coaching techniques from former major league players as well as fellow MBA coaches who have experience teaching players of all ages.

Required Information:
1- ALL Head and Assistant Coach Volunteers- Please enter your own information using this link:
https://opportunities.averity.com/MinnetonkaBy completing, you are giving me permission to order a background check on you on behalf of MBA. All reports are viewed only by the Safety Director and Safety Director Assistant unless an offense appears that requires action. The board will consider your eligibility for coaching on a case by case basis if you have any felonies or 2 or more convictions classified as a misdemeanor.

2- Concussion Certificate- Per MN Session law, all coaches must have taken the CDC on-line Concussion training within the last 3 years. You need to save these on your computer and email the Safety Director (mbasafetydirector@gmail.com) the certificate. They are not automatically sent to the league.
