MBA will not provide waivers to players who reside within the Minnetonka School District to play on teams from other communities. Minnetonka Baseball Association provides opportunities to play both on our Community or Travel teams.
Due to Minnetonka Baseball Association’s partnership with Metro Baseball League/Metro Baseball Tournaments (MBL/MBT) and Gopher State (MYAS) we will abide by their policy of not allowing renegade teams from players who reside within the Minnetonka Baseball Association’s boundaries.
MBL/MBT Definition: A renegade team is defined as any team that is comprised of players who all reside in the same community or attend the same school, but who have chosen to bypass the local traveling association to form a team. It is also defined as any team that is comprised of players from multiple communities where recognized youth associations exist.
MYAS Definition: A renegade/independent team is defined as any team that is comprised of players who all reside in the same community or attend the same school, but who have chosen to bypass the local traveling association.
If any player or coach violates this policy by forming or playing on a renegade team, they will be brought before the Grievance Committee. Penalties could include immediate removal from the league and will forfeit their registration fee. Their eligibility to participate in the league in future years could also be in jeopardy.
